Buying a Home
|
Experience has taught us that the buying process involves common stages for all home buyers. My goal is to help you understand this process and make the most of every day and dollar you spend looking for a home.
House hunting begins at home – with planning. Before you grab a road map and hit the streets, take some time to sit down and determine how much house you can afford to buy. This usually depends on two things: how much you can afford for the monthly housing payment, and how much you can invest in the down payment. Your monthly payments usually include principal and interest on the mortgage loan, property taxes and insurance against fire and other hazards. For some buyers, this may also include homeowner’s association dues, condominium fees and mortgage insurance. If you have questions determining just how much house you will be able to purchase, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. I have close relationships with experienced and helpful lenders who can answer any potential questions that you may have.
By also thinking of the amenities you'd like your new home to include, you can narrow down the search for the right home. For instance, you can determine up front how many bedrooms or bathrooms you are looking for, if you need a garage, or close proximity to a particular road or highway. If you are a parent, consider the school districts your new home will be located in and factor that into your decision. Knowing these preferences ahead of time will help us narrow down the search to the properties best suited for you.
